This is a 8×8 LED serial input / output common-cathode display driver that is connected to a microprocessor and has an 8-digit 7-segment digital led display that can also be connected to a bar graph display or 64 independent leds. This display can be used to display any type of data like a number, letter or any character. This display is made up of 64 dot type LEDs. The display has 8 rows of LEDs and 8 columns of LEDs each. That’s why it is called an 8×8 LED Dot Matrix Display. This display is based on MAX7219 IC and a microcontroller (Arduino, raspberry pi, etc.) is used to control it.
