Description
The LM7809 series 3-terminal positive regulator is available in a TO-220 package and has multiple fixed output voltages, making it useful for a variety of applications. Each type features internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, safe operating range protection, and is virtually indestructible. It can deliver an output current of over 1A with sufficient heat dissipation. Although these devices are primarily designed as fixed voltage regulators, they can be used with external components to obtain adjustable voltages and currents.
